Holden Evening Prayer
A few words from Andrew:
In tenth grade, my church paid for my sister and me to attend Organ Camp at Concordia College in Moorhead, where we would later pursue our undergraduate degrees. Mid-week, we attended an evening service at First Lutheran in Fargo, where “Holden Evening Prayer” was used. I remember it being a beautiful and incredible experience, so much so that it stayed with me twenty years later.
Since Pastor Pam came to us, I have talked with her about music. She and I have been receptive to trying new music for services at Grace. We have since learned and started using With One Voice, Setting V (Bread of Life), which we will continue to use on Sundays throughout Lent and after Easter.
We want to introduce Holden Evening Prayer for the remaining Wednesdays during Lent. If you have arrived early to church these past few Sundays, you may have heard me practicing Holden Evening Prayer. If you want to practice the music, I recommend watching the YouTube video below.
